The Pingoune Lugga is a remote
area of Sosian and a favorite spot
for lions to spend the daylight hours
hidden under the bushes and trees. The grassy plains of the north are home
to animals like Grant's Gazelle, Zebra,
Hartebest, and Ostrich. Rocky escarpments run through this area of
Sosian and is a favorite habitat for the Greater Kudu. Acacia dam sits in the center of Sosian and
is a welcome source of water during the dry season
for Elephants and other animals. The Ewaso Narok river runs through Sosian
and in several places forms waterfalls.
Below these are pools inhabited
by Hippos. The lodge at Sosian can accommodate up to 14 guests. The Ewaso Narok River provides habitat
for a wide variety of wildlife
such as this African Fish Eagle. The Suguta is a swamp that is an
important wetland for birds and provides
water for animals during the dry season
on the southern end of Sosian.
